Moto2, Jake Dixon fa segnare il miglior tempo nelle P1 del GP delle Americhe. Nono Tony Arbolino
Al primo giro spicca Jake Dixon. Il britannico è risultato il più veloce nelle P1 della Moto2 in quel di Austin, città del Texas che sta ospitando questo fine settimana il GP delle Americhe, terza tappa del Motomondiale 2023.
Il pilota, in forza al GASGAS Aspar Team, ha registrato il tempo di 2:10.516, procurandosi un vantaggio di +0.009 su Somkiat Chantra (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), secondo davanti al ceco Filip Salac (QJmotor Gresini Moto2), terzo a 0.022.
Il leader della classifica piloti, l’italiano Tony Arbolino (ELF Marc VDS), ha invece cominciato il suo percorso nella difficile pista del COTA segnando il nono tempo, con un ritardo di 0.258 rispetto a Dixon. Lo spagnolo Aaron Canet (Pons Wegwow Los40) è invece riuscito a percorrere il tracciato con un ritardo di 0.188, mentre Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) ha timbrato il quarto tempo a 0.146.
Provvisoriamente fuori dalla top 14 invece il resto degli italiani. Celestino Vietti (Fantic Motor) si è posizionato nella quindicesima casella a 1.999, Dennis Foggia (Italtrans Racing Team) ha invece raccolto la diciassettesima piazza a 1.415. Ventiquattresimo invece Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Pertamna Mandalika SAG Team) a 2.449.
