NASCAR Xfinity Series, Charlotte Roval: AJ Allmendinger si conferma nei road course. Sieg, Herbst, Clements ed Hemric out dai Playoffs

Come da pronostico AJ Allmendinger è stato il migliore al Charlotte Roval durante la prova della NASCAR Xfintiy Series. Il 16 di Kaulig Racing non ha deluso le attese imponendosi per la quarta volta consecutiva nel road course che sorge nello Stato del North Carolina, abile nel finale ad abbattere ogni possibile assalto da parte di Ty Gibbs.

Il californiano è stato semplicemente perfetto, a segno per la quinta volta stagionale davanti al nipote di Joe Gibbs che nel finale ha tentato di ribaltare il risultato finale. La missione non è riuscita per il portacolori della Toyota Supra 54, meritatamente secondo davanti Noah Gragson (JR Motorsports 9), James Davison (Gibbs 18) e Justin Allgaier (JR Motorsports 7).

Molto interessante anche la lotta per i Playoffs, ricordiamo infatti che la sfida nel difficile percorso del Charlotte Motor Speedway è stata infatti anche la prima ‘Elimination Race’ dell’anno per quanto riguarda la NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Oltre ad Allmendinger e Gibbs, di fatto certi di accedere al ‘Round of 8’ e raggiungere il già presente Gragson, la competizione odierna ha visto il passaggio di Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry, Sam Mayer e Brandon Jones. Nulla da fare, invece, per Ryan Sieg, Riley Herbst, Jeremy Clements e soprattutto Daniel Hemric, out dalla battaglia per un ipotetico posto nel ‘Championship 4’. Da rimarcare l’uscita di scena dell’ultimo pilota citato, l’11 di Kaulig Racing (Chevy) che da campione è costretto ad uscire di scena al primo round dei Playoffs. Stagione complessa per il 31enne nativo di Kannapolis, presente nel 2021 con i colori di Gibbs Racing (Toyota).

Prossimo impegno tra una settimana a Las Vegas.
