Nella sesta giornata degli Australian Open 2016, tornano nuovamente in campo  Andy Murray e Stan Wawrinka attesi da dei confronti, sulla carta, non impossibili contro Joao Sousa e Lukas Rosol. Nel tabellone femminile match di cartello tra Ana Ivanovic e Madison Keys mentre si attendono conferme da Victoria Azarenka e Garbine Muguruza, probabili avversarie nel turno successivo.
